Subjects Taught

B.S. in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University 1987

Received a MAE from Truman State University 1990

I taught 7th and 8th grade science and math at LaPlata RII High School in La Plata, Missouri, for one year.

I returned to teaching and taught 8th grade science for seven years at the old middle school.

This is my third year teaching the STEM related arts rotation at the middle school.

After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, I spent one year in the clinical pharmacology department at Vanderbilt University conducting research on omega three fatty acids. I then moved to Missouri and completed my masters in education while my husband, Shon, attended medical school. I taught 7th and 8th grade math and science at a 7th through 12th grade school in La Plata, Missouri for one year. My husband was a physician in the military for nine years and we had the opportunity to live in several states and experience the German and Korean cultures. I have been married for 29 years and my husband and I have two children. My daughter Lauren graduated from MTSU and received her Masters in Accounting from Belmont University. My son Andrew graduated from MTSU and is currently a medical student at VCOM college of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama. I was a stay at home mom/substitute teacher for many years. I returned to teaching in 2007 and have been at CCMS since that time. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling and crafting.
