Lady Raiders Basketball

By: 7th Graders Emma And Bell

Basketball at Coffee County Middle School is a good learning experience. It helps with social experiences and physical fitness. Basketball at CCMS is getting our players ready for the high school basketball team. If you're thinking about trying out for the lady raiders basketball team, you need to know that it is a big commitment. The coaches look for girls with potential, good athletic ability, commitment skills, leadership skills, hustle, and team spirit. The basketball team has practice every day in the mornings during summer. When season starts we have practice everyday after school for one and half hours to two hours and on weekends too.

There are costs when you play basketball. You have to pay for the shoes, and the parents donate food and drinks (etc) to the concession stands. It is highly pushed for the parents to participate in the fundraisers. They help pay for shooting shirts, warm up clothes, and other things the players will receive. Basketball is a serious sport at the middle school. You can not just go to practice and play around. Basketball will get you in great shape at the end of the season. Basketball is a very active sport. One of the basketball players would like say that, ‘’don't be so nervous’’. At tryouts, try your best and don't get nervous. Practice like you play and give it your best shot.
